  • 05/12/2009 - We've added the Burju Shoes NY Runway Show 2009 gallery. Nuevotec was on location for the New York Launch Party & Runway Show for Burju Shoes in late April. Burju Perez, also of Hacha y Machete, invited colleagues, friends, and family to view her new line of shoes for dancers and the wedding market, in collaboration with Karina Jimenez of Something Blue NY. Among the models were Melissa Rosado, Duplessey Walker, Lori Perez, Stracy Diaz, Aurora Fiorentino Scerbo, and Karel Flores.

  • 05/11/2009 - We've added the Yesenia Birthday Social 2009 gallery. Yesenia Peralta celebrated her birthday in May at her Dance Factor Studio in Union City, NJ with Tropical Image, Xibicion Santo Rico, and Koncepto Karisma.

  • 05/11/2009 - We've added the Jimmy Anton 16th Anniversary Social 2009 gallery. The longest running social in New York from Jimmy Anton celebrated its 16th anniversary with the 21 piece Latin Giants Orchestra.

  • 05/04/2009 - We've added the NJ Mambo Night Out April 2009 gallery. Mario "B" Gonzales from the Salsa Fever on2 Dance Academy held the second New Jersey Mambo Night Out event in Newark, NJ in April with live band Ocho y Mas.

  • 04/27/2009 - We've added the Boston Salsa Congress gallery. The Boston Salsa Congress once again made its return for 2009. John "Choco" Knight, April Genovese De La Rosa, and Chris Soto brought together a great collection of artists from from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Philly, Toronto, and Puerto Rico.

  • 04/20/2009 - We've added the Philly Jam 3 gallery. Promoter and performer Nick Padin threw together his most successful event to date - Philly Jam 3. Salseros from Philly, New Jersey, New York, DC, Boston and Chicago came out and showed their love. Some of the invited artists included Urban Vibe, Masacote, Lena Dance Company, Calle Luna, Fuzion Creativa, Art in Motion, Estilo, and Project B dancers.

  • 04/13/2009 - We've added the DJ Jose Rodriguez Birthday 2009/La Epoca 2 Filming gallery. Philly's DJ Jose Rodriguez celebrated his birthday in his second home of Washington DC with Stuck on Salsa. The event also featured filming for La Epoca 2 - The Lost Rhythms in Salsa by Josue Joseph. Both Fuzion Creativa and the ClaveKazi student team performed, with DJ La Clave playing the tunes for the party.

  • 03/31/2009 - We've added the Estilo Spring Showcase 2009 gallery. Mike Andino and the Estilo Dance Company in Philadelphia held their biannual showcase at TD University in Mount Laurel, NJ. In addition to several Estilo salsa, mambo, and kids teams, Mike invited several dance companies such as Joe Figueroa's Living in Rhythm, Lou Lopez from the CT Salsa Fest, and a collaboration with La Luna Dance Studio.

  • 03/30/2009 - We've added the Luvsalsa Amateur Competition 2009 gallery. Chelsea Gaillard and Luvsalsa Entertainment held their second annual competition. Congratulations to all contestants, including Shannon and Edward, Jorge and Van, and Lorenzo and Alla, and winners Rob Grisko and Kristal Brounce.

  • 03/30/2009 - We've added the Latin Fever 5th Anniversary gallery. Marisol Ramirez and the Latin Fever Dance Studio celebrated their 5th anniversary in Brooklyn, NY. They invited special guests Latin Reflections, Carolyn Hulse Dance Troupe, East Side Edition, in addition to their kids group Latin Fever Dynasty, and pro group.

  • 03/23/2009 - We've added the Dancers Night Out 2008 - Honoring Tomas Guerrero gallery. Promoter and Performer Edwin Rivera held the 6th annual Dancers Night Out event in New York in March. This year honored Santo Rico's Tomas Guerrero. Invited artists include Santo Rico, Proyecto Descarga, Heartbreak Boys, the Sweethearts, Shani's Girls, Latin Jazz Ensemble, Caribbean Soul, and East Side Edition

  • 03/16/2009 - We've added the La Epoca Film Screening gallery. George Dennis invited producer Josué Joseph to Philadelphia for the film screening of "La Epoca - The Palladium Era" at Drexel University (with help from Brett). The documentary covers Mambo, the roots behind the umbrella term "Salsa," and its affects on the generations of musicians and dancers that have followed since its conception.

  • 03/16/2009 - We've added the La Luna Pro-Am Competition gallery. La Luna Dance Studio in Bensalem, Pa, held its first annual Pro-Am Salsa Competition, teaming its instructors and students. The teachers included Amber Rawls, Mike Andino, Star Sequinot, and Jose Maldonado.

  • 03/01/2009 - We've added the Yamulee Valentine's Day Social gallery. Oscar Perrones and the Yamulee Dance Company held their Valentine's Day social in the Bronx, NY. This month they debuted a great new routine for 2009.

  • 02/23/2009 - We've added the Atrium Dance Studio 8th Anniversary gallery. Congratulations to Barbara Capaldi and the Atrium Dance Studio as they celebrated their amazing 8th anniversary in Pennsauken, New Jersey. They held their anniversary with an annual showcase of salsa, belly dance, Argentine tango, and hip-hop performances

  • 02/08/2009 - We've added the Fuzion Creativa - Winter Showcase 2009 gallery. The Fuzion Creativa Dance Company, based in Philly and South Jersey, held their first Salsambo Winter Showcase in Westville, NJ. Performers included Fuzion Creativa, Nelson and Alyssa, and The Canaries (Fuzion Creativa's student dance team).

  • 12/22/2008 - We've added the MDN Latin Dance Studio 5th Anniversary gallery to our website. Marcus Nieves of the MDN Latin Dance Studio celebrated the 5th anniversary of his studio (Belleville, NJ) with special guests Eddie Torres and Melissa Rosado, and the Santo Rico Dance Company.

  • 12/15/2008 - We've added the Fuzion Creativa - Salsambo Social gallery to our website. George Dennis, Nelson Miranda, and Victor Colon from the Philadelphia/South Jersey based group Fuzion Creativa Dance Company holds a monthly social in Westville, NJ.

  • 12/08/2008 - We've added the Onda Latina Fall Showcase gallery to our website. Two of the University of Pennsylvania's dance and music troupes, Onda Latina and African Rhythms, come together in the spirit of unity and cooperation with Orishas: Two Rhythms, One Spirit. The show features live music from African Rhythm's drum core, and African and Latin / Caribbean dances.

  • 12/01/2008 - We've added the Brooklyn Salsa Gala 2008 gallery to our website. Arelis Beato held the 2008 Brooklyn Salsa Gala to help support her youth oriented dance school, the Tropical Image Dance Company. She invited New York's finest dancers, including Yamulee, Xibicion Santo Rico, Piel Canela, Dancers Dreamzzz, Estilo Dancers, Fuerza Positiva, Combinacion Perfecta, and Duran Dance Company.

  • 11/17/2008 - We've added the Club Paradise Reunion 2008 gallery to our website. Club Paradise was the spot to go to for salsa in New Jersey in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Many of New Jersey's best dancers, including Ismael Otero, Yesenia Peralta, and Griselle Ponce first started teaching and dancing at the club. Dany Joshua of Scarlet Mambo invited patrons of the original Paradise to the 360 Lounge in New Brunswick, NJ. Social dances include Andy Cruz and Griselle Ponce, Antonio and Lyne, Dany Joshua and Camila, Greg and Yesenia, Junior and Shirley, Luis and Marysol, and Manny and Irene.

  • 11/10/2008 - We've added the Tumimambo 5th Anniversary gallery to our website. Jesse Yip and the Tumimambo Dance School in Plainfield, NJ, celebrated their 5th anniversary with their student and pro teams (Signatura dancers), and special guests Piel Canela, Mambo Classico, Tropical Image, Latin Fever, Latin Reflections, and Shani's Girls. Social dances include Andres and Lauren, Eric and Erica, Joe Burgos and Rebecca, Jonathan and Stephanie, Jose and Bianca, Marie and Andre, Mike and Vanessa, Ray and Marlene, and Roberto and Frances.

  • 10/27/2008 - We've added the Indian Summer Salsa Bash gallery. Winsome Lee and Cecilia Williams of Revelation Dance Company held their Indian Summer Salsa Bash as a fundraiser/celebration for the 5th year anniversary of La Tormenta Oriental, and to raise funds for the 2008 Punta Cana Salsa Congress.

    Performances include La Tormenta Oriental, Latin Jazz Ensemble, Franklin Ayala and Jimmy Anton, Xibicion Santo Rico, Revelation Dance Company, and the Sweethearts. Social dances include Roberto and Anna, Chris and Venus, Edwin and Melanie, Joe and AnneMarie, Mark and Natalia, and Nicholas and Taina, and Johnny and Suzanne. Marlon Mills also interviewed Winsome Lee.

  • 10/13/2008 - We've added the 2008 New York Salsa Congress gallery. The tradition continues! The New York Salsa Congress is now the 8th annual New York International Salsa Congress and dance festival. Performers and dancers alike came as far as Japan, China, and Italy to attend this legendary event.

    Interviews conducted by Melanie (Mel C) of and Dimas Mero include Adalberto Santiago, Bachata Jorge Elizondo, DJ Michelle, Giancarlo Gabellini (Gabellini Shoes), Jazz Biancci (, Juan Matos and Candy Mena, Michael Majesty (Viva La Salsa Show), and Vincent of Casa Latina Music Shop.   • 9/29/2008 - We've added the La Vieja Guardia debut social. In late August, Joel Dominguez, Alfredo Felix, and DJ Toño held their first social at Chelsea dance studio in New York. Their goal - to bring classic salsa and mambo music to the masses, to all levels of dancers. Performance videos include Jose Aguilar and Mariana Salinas, and Luis Aguilar and Anya Katsevman. Social dance videos include DJ David Montreal and Liane, Joel and Monica, Johnny and Daiana, Jonathan and Renee, Leon and Alina, Rudy and Valentina, Sekou and Magna, and Shaka and Teresa.

  • 9/22/2008 - We've added the 2008 Washington DC Salsa Congress gallery. Shaka Brown and staff organized another great event, attracting dancers from DC, VA, MD, NJ, NY as well as international dancers.

  • 9/8/2008 We've added three video galleries to our website.

    Yamulee 5th Anniversary - One of the world's most premiere mambo teams, Yamulee Dance Company, celebrated their 5th anniversary in Bronx, NY. The Yamulee pro team performed their "Tumba La Cana Jibarito" piece (Celia Cruz), and Bajari de Yamulee also performed. Dimas Mero caught up with director Osmar Perrones, Ahmed Zakaria, Karel Flores, and Desarella.

    Scarlet Mambo First Social - Central New Jersey has a thriving salsa scene with the first Scarlet Salsa Social from Scarlet Mambo's Dany Joshua and Camila Sanchez. Dany held a styling battle between his own men's styling class and invited guest Yesenia Peralta's ladies styling class. The HotSalsaHot student team led by Henri Velandia performed at the event. Social dance videos include Amir Shimoni and Amarilys, Dany Joshua and Camila Sanchez, Henri Velandia and Claudia, Jesse Yip and Jackie, Joel Dominguez and Yesenia Peralta, Jose and Daisy, Pablo and claudia, Sergio and Anna, and Willie and Julie. Yesenia Peralta interviewed Dany, Camila, and Martin Barreto about their new social and dance school.

    Salsa Salsa 5th Anniversary - Marcus Gonzales and Ray Colon from Brooklyn's Salsa Salsa Dance Studio invited students, friends, and performers to celebrate its 5th anniversary. Invited guests included Baila Society and Enixe Dance Company. Also performing were the Salsa Salsa Student team, choreographed by Jose Rivera. Johnny and Kona from Enixe caught up with Marcus Gonzales and Ray Colon to discuss their anniversary, and their future plans in Brooklyn. Social dances include Daniel Enskat and Ahtoy Wonpat-Borja, Fernando and Jasmine, Jeremiah and Belinda, Jose and Kissimee, Luis and Chris, and Ron Prokapez and Arelis Beato. Arelis Beato of Tropical Image Dancers in Brooklyn also interviewed the new band, Willy's NYC Salsa Project, who performed songs from their album, Lo Que Traigo Yo. The group is a collection of talented musicians, led by Willy Torres, who is part of the Grammy award winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

  • 8/24/2008 We have added the Las Vegas Salsa Congress 2008 video gallery. The 5th Annual Las Vegas Salsa Congress attracted salseros from the east and west coast, midwest, and Puerto Rico. Promoted by the Sin City Salseros (Nathan Strager and Oscar Coranado) with David Nieto, the staff brought one of the finest groups in the world, Tropical Gem. The event featured great performances, live music, workshops, and social dancing.

    Interview videos were conducted by Joe Figueroa of Living in Rhythm, Oscar Coronado of Sin City Salseros, and Linda from Majesty in Motion. They interviewed Eduardo Aguirre and Heather Gervais of E Mayimbe Dance Company, Josh and Diana (qualifier winners for the 2008 World Salsa Championships), LatinoXplosion Kids with Joel Hernandez, Mambo Magic, Nathan Strager, Oscar Coronado and Virginia Cano, Positive Energy Dance Company (San Diego), Rogelio Moreno and Megan Edner from Salsabor y Cache, Rumberos Con Cache, and Fernando Sosa, Tatiana, David, and Francesca from Tropical Gem.

  • 8/15/2008 Added Yesenia's House of Dance opening and the House of Dance social.

    There's a new studio in Union City, New Jersey with Yesenia's Dance Factory. Yesenia Peralta and her staff celebrated the grand opening of the school with performances by ClaveKazi, Sekou McMiller and Chachi (Grizel Del Valle), Jose Aguilar and Mariana Salinas, Sangre Nueva, and Shani's Girls.

    Griselle Ponce and The House of Dance held their Jersey's Finest experience social in Passaic, New Jersey in July. Headling the event were the champions of the NY/NJ Salsa Open competition, Luis Aguilar and Anya Katsevman. Also performing were Young Ambition and Edwin and Paula of Grupo Melao.

  • 8/7/2008 We've added the 2008 Philadelphia Salsa Congress to our video gallery. World Salsa Championship qualifiers performances from the on1, on2, cabaret, and team division include Henri Velandia and Christy Kam, Miguel Coronado and Monica Coro, Alberto Muriel and Igrid Rivera, Elvis Collado and Arelis Beato, and A Son y Salsa. Adalberto Santiago performed live at the congress. Other performances include Philly's Asereco Dancers, Princeton' HotSalsaHot Dancers, Reading (Pennsylvania)'s Latin Flair dancers, and Puerto Rico's Raza with Visual Impact Performers

    Social dance videos include Clint, Bracey, Braniff, and Melissa, a Colombian style salsa freestyle with Grupo Melao (Ottoniel Palacios / Edwin Villalobos), Homi Malave and Igrid Rivera, and Nestor Soto and Madeline Montalvo.

Barbara Capaldi and the Atrium Dance Studio in Pennsauken, NJ bring their students and instructors together twice a year for the great showcases.   • 7/26/2008 We've added the New Swing Sextet - Back On the Streets CD release party to our video gallery. Imagine a band that started in 1965, disbanded in 1979, and awoke from their retirement in the late 90s/early 2000s to achieve even more popularity, and you have the New York based group, the legendary New Swing Sextet. Nearly 37 years after their last studio album (1971's Revolucionando), they have released their newest work, Back on the Streets, A Taste of Spanish Harlem, vol. 2.

    Our highlights video includes performances from "My Favorite Things" and "El Bongo", and interviews with band members George Rodriguez, Jose (Cheo) Medina, and Angel Justiniano. Salsa dancers, performers, and musicians gave their thoughts with DJ Nelson Torres, Ismael Otero and Shani Talmor (Caribbean Soul), Joel Massicot (Masacote Dancers), Melissa Pabon (Enixe & Art in Motion), Franklin Ayala (Dancesport All-Stars), & Jonathan and Maritza.

    Dimas Mero also had the pleasure of doing a full interview (broken in two parts) with New Swing Sextet band members George Rodriguez, Jose (Cheo) Medina, and Angel Justiniano, and Alejandro Rodriguez. Live performance videos include "The Monster", "My Favorite Things" and "El Bongo". Social dances videos include Jonathan and Maritza, Ismael and Shani, and Andrew and Maite.

  • 7/20/2008 We've added the Stardust - NY Meets Philly social to the website. On June 28, event organizer Paul Loftland (Paul Loftland Photography) brought to the Stardust Ballroom in Bellmawr, New Jersey world renowed DJ Henry Knowles, Duplessey Walker, Melanie Torres, and Sabor Latina for some New York flavor. Melanie Torres taught a well received cha-cha workshop, and performed with her dance group Sabor Latina and the former Copacanaba dancers. Interviews include Henry Knowles (Duplessey Monic Walker), and Melanie Torres (by Henry Knowles). Henri Velandia and Christy Kam of HotSalsaHot also performed. Social dance videos include Arnelle and Cassandra, Henri and Christy, Mike and Tiffany, Roberto and Duplessey, and Walid and Olivia. New York invades the Stardust! The Stardust Ballroom is a longtime attraction for salsa dancers in the Philly, South Jersey, and Delaware area. Dress to impress socials are held twice a month every 2nd and 4th Saturday.

  • 7/17/2008 We've added the MDN Latin Dance Social June 2008 video gallery. Marcus Nieves from the MDN Latin Dance Studio in Belleville, New Jersey holds a social every month. In June, Marcus (who has trained with Luis Zegarra, Nelson Flores, and Eddie Torres) invited the Santo Rico Dance Company to his event. Santo Rico performed a medley with its semipro group, Xibicion Santo Rico. Giana Vegas interviews Marcus to discuss his background, studio, and his monthly social. Social dance videos include Jojo and Marianne, Pablo and Keshia, and Andrew and Jaime.

  • 7/5/2008 We've added the 2008 Connecticut Salsa Fest video gallery. Luis Lopez, Ivette Cabrera, and the Connecticut Salsa Fest organized another fabulous event at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut. The festival included high quality performances from youth and adult dance teams, live music from bands such as Karibe Mambo, workshops from such instructors as Ismael Otero and Shani Talmor and Salsa y Control's Johnny and Andres Giraldo. Below are some sample videos from the event.

  • 6/13/2008 We've added the Fantagious CD Theater Production video gallery. Celebrating Ritmo Masacote's second latin jazz album entitled Fantagious, this CD release theater production combined live music from the 11 piece latin jazz ensemble, original dance performances from the Masacote Dance Company, close-up magic from Marshall Weller, improvisational comedy and acting from Lee Rios, and the singing debut of artist Gordon Neil.

    This fusion of latin jazz music, vocals, ballet, modern, and salsa dance choreography, plus comedy, and close-up illusion and magic marked an innovative and entertaining theater production.

  • 5/24/2008 We've added the Pulpo - Hot Bread and video gallery. Veteran musician Gilberto "Pulpo" Colon, Jr. releases his debut album, Hot Bread, after 30 years in the music business. Pulpo has played piano for such notable artists as Hector Lavoe and Adalberto Santiago. Chris Soto from The Mambo Project helped bring the project to fruition as producer. Mel C and Steve from the UK salsa media organization Salsa Central was also on hand for the CD release party. We feature two live performances from the Hot Bread album, including "Clara's Lament" and "Sonero Mayor". We feature a small sample of interviews from Salsa Central, including New Swing Sextet, Chino Nunez, Larry Harlow, and Jimmy Bosch.

  • 5/5/2008 We have added our video and photo gallery for Mario B Gonzales' birthday social. Our good friend, director and founder of the Salsa Fever on2 Dance Academy celebrated his 32nd birthday with friends, family, and students in Jersey City, NJ in late April.

Colombian World Salsa Championships team finalist Son De Cali also performed. Nuevotec's Giana Vega caught up with Mario B (Gonzales) to discuss his thoughts on his birthday social, the value of friends and family who have supported him through the years, and his future plans with the dance academy.

  • 5/1/2008 We've added the LuvSalsa Amateur Competition video gallery to our site. In March, amateurs performed two minute choreographed routines to compete at the first annual LuvSalsa Amateur Competition.. Six brave couples from Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware participated that night. Jonathan Mejia and Andrea Garrick from Dance Crush studios edged the competition out as the 2008 champions.

  • 4/17/2008 We have added our first high definition video gallery with the 2008 Boston Salsa Congress. April Genovese and John "Choco" Knight (Mambofateegz) brought salsa back to the largest city in New England with the 4th annual Boston Salsa Congress. Home to groups such as Masacote, Hacha y Machete, and Salsa y Control, the congress attracted dancers from areas like Toronto and Chicago. The event featured all star performers such as Al and Karla Espinoza, Yamulee, and Jayson Molina y su Rompecabezas. Saturday night featured a live performance from the great band Ensalada de Pulpo, led by Gilberto "Pulpo" Colón

    Our highlights video features mini interviews with Jayson Molina, Victor and Burju of Hacha y Machete, Al and Karla Espinoza.   • 4/2/2008 Added the 2008 Estilo Dance Studio Spring Showcase gallery. In March, Philadelphia's Estilo Dance Studio featured its Spring Showcase - A Tribute to Hector Lavoe.   • 3/16/2008 We've added the Dancer's Night Out 2008 - Honoring Ismael Otero video gallery. Edwin Rivera's Dancers Night Out event annually honors a member of the salsa scene for their contributions to the community. In February, the event chose performer, instructor, and choreographer Ismael Otero.

    In a tribute video to Ismael, we feature some of the best moments of Ismael in the Nuevotec archive in the past four years, including several Caribbean Soul performances, social dances against Super Mario(another Million Moves Man), interviews from multiple salsa events and Salsamentary, and Ismael's crazy comedy antics.     Since 2005, couples from around the globe have competed for first place at the World Salsa Championships.

    At the 2006 World Salsa Championships, we followed two couples from Philadelphia, and one couple from the Netherlands, in their attempt to be the world's best from their respective divisions. Salsamentary, Dance to Live, Live to Dance (a documentary) is currently 13 chapters, with a planned 14th chapter for the finals. The chapters are available at our websites, and

  • 1/13/2008 We've added the Stardust Ballroom Grand Reopening 2007 gallery. One of the Philly and South Jersey's oldest running salsa socials from 1999, the Stardust Ballroom in Pennsauken, NJ was closed down in May. You can't keep a good thing down, and the new stardust was born in Bellmawr, NJ (15 miles away from the previous location). With space to hold well over 500 dancers, the ballroom is the place to be every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Thanks to Paul Loftland and the staff who brought the event back.

  • 10/3/2007 The large format salsa event returns in a big way to San Diego with the 2007 San Diego Salsa Festival. With almost a two year hiatus in a large salsa event, Angel and Tulane Rivera from A Time to Dance studios with Albert Torres Productions organized the festival, complete with local (Majesty in Motion, Iran Castillo, Salsa Divas, etc) and outside talent (among others, Tito and Tamara, Jayson Molina, Junior and Emily, and Hacha y Machete). The precedent is set for years to come!

    Performing two shows a year, Onda Latina continues to educate the UPenn and Philadelphia community at large about Latino and Caribbean culture through the art of dance. Growing from a small group 6 to over 40 members in the past 10 years, this troupe has had a dramatic impact on the UPenn campus and surrounding community. In their 20th show Onda continues to exhibit their creativity and versatility in various dance genres, ranging from Soca to mambo. And is able to delivery an unforgettable performance to a sold out crowd.

    As a bonus nuevotec was not only able to interview the alumni who attended this milestone performance but get a sense from the performers themselves as to how they felt about their incredible and truly memorable performance.

  • 7/18/07 We've added the La Luna Summer Showcase 2007 gallery. June is the time of year for La Luna Dance Studio's well received Summer Showcase. The Philadelphia and Bensalem area studio always manages to put on an excellent show with their student groups, beginner to advanced. Groups were choreographed by talented instructors Jose Maldonado, Sonya Elmore, and Amber Rawls.

  • 6/25/07 We've added the 2007 LA Salsa Congress video gallery. Albert Torres and ATP Events have moved the West Coast Congress from Salsa Land to the Radisson Hotel. The event is now housed in one location, moving back to its roots, and gaining a sense of intimacy and convenience. Even as a smaller event, the congress attracted salseros from all over the world, and was well received among attendees.

    Interviews (by correspondents Mario B Gonzales and Dr. Marissa Yanez) include Albert Torres, Isidro Corona and Sheila Zepeda, John Narvaez and Liz Rojas, Pretty Boys and Girls (Ricardo Sanchez, Michelle Castro, Elisa, Danny), Raul and Alicia Gomez, and the Swinguys (Philip, Sylvia, and Titty).

Also the embed html code displays a much larger video, at 480x340, versus the previous 360x240.   • 6/03/07 We've added the David Melendez Tribute video gallery. The salsa world suffered a great loss with the passing of David. In early May, bands, dancers, and volunteers (including the Bronx/Co-op City ballroom) donated their time, energy, and resources to honor a unique individual who touched many lives.

    Nuevotec's Davin Riley and Dimas Mero conducted interviews with students, staff, and colleagues, including (Sweethearts and Heartbreak Boyz) alumni Amanda, Christina, Kathy, Michael; Starlite Dance owners Eddie Camacho and Erica Luquis; and parents of the current dance members (Fay, Mily, and Valerie). Other interviews include Curtis from CNR Productions, Eddie Q of Salsa and More magazine, Liz (Santo Rico) and Yvette, and Mario B and Thomas Guerrero.   • 1/9/07 Added "Kool Salsero" Competition and Salsa Night held at Tierra Colombiana. Music for the night provided by Philadelphia's own Saboricua. Watch Some local salseros duke it out for the title of "Kool Salsero" as they display their own individual flavor. In the competition you'll find dancers such as Corey Garcia, Jorge Estevez, Kathleen Eccleston, Raul Santiago, as well as other dancers. These dancers represent dance groups such as Art in Motion, Visual Impact Performers, Salseros Unidos, and many more... We visited the venue for their 2006 Halloween party, complete with live music from Elvis Bonilla y su Orquestra.
